The following tips will help you in the early stages of a game:

1. With a strong pair to start, fast play to try and eliminate other players.

2. With three to a flush or straight, slow play to build up the pot

3. With starting trips, slow play to keep players in

4. Avoid playing three to a low flush or straight

5. Only start with a low pair if they are both concealed.

6. Watch for key cards going to other players that may diminish your own chances of building a good hand.

7. If another player has a paired door, chances are they hold trips, so unless you can beat that, fold.

7. Do bluff every so often and let yourself get caught doing it sometimes. Varying your play makes it harder for opponents to predict you.
